ok if anyone our there can help me.... somthing is up with our computer! it has been for awhile and my hubby and i keep accidentally figuring it out.... but this time we cant and we dont have anywhere to take it to here... i mean not where we would understand what theyre saying....
so the problem is its not always showing pictures on websites... sometimes if you refresh the screen enough it will.... but usually we have to turn off our virus blocker and then it will work.... but we dont want to do that.... so i'm thinking some settings got messed up... we thought java, cookies.... etc etc.... but we've messed with those before and it worked... although no matter what we've done we can't get the old navy website to work! ugh! so now the most frustrating thing is whatever this problem is , its blocking me from being able to upload photos to my blog or my etsy site! we've tried everything... so if anyone anywhere knows what to do then please help and then hopefully i can get this blog back on the road!

so i've been non blogging for awhile because i had some varicose veins removed... just wanted to apologize for not saying HEY this was gonna happen and HEY i wont be writing for a bit.... it was way more extensive then i thought it would be and it looks like i'll have to wear the tights for at least a week.... YAY! i'm only 30 but i guess having 3 kids and being on your feet all the time will do it! they took out a lot of veins... i went to the german krakenhaus and the doc said my veins were kaput... :) i will write more later and i do have tons to blog about... swaps etc etc etc....

well i made a little "for the holiday's" change to the ole blog.... i just love that paper that i used in my very first handmade journal.... so thats the new background for now.... anyways... because of the way this week is going and this day as well so far, i cannot show some of the things i've been working on yet.... but i'm giving you this snowy wintery pic as a freebie , which i havent done in quite awhile..... and an awsome recipe for peanut butter play dough that the kids just LOVE! also wanted to say i'm going with the family TONIGHT to see the HARLEM GLOBE TROTTERS .... at our lowly little gym on base.... i've always wanted to see them/meet them/ what have you... so tonights the night! woohoo!.... :) its for my kids that we are going... yeah that's it.... :) i'll have to share some photos of the experience tommorrow...

well i'm a big fat dork... i never took finished photos of my christmas cottage that i made.... my partner does not have a blog either as far as i know , so this is what your getting to see... the just before finished photos.... i got some dollhouse sized icicles.... and a dollhouse sized nativity scene....... not only is the roof covered in glitter but i piled it up around the snowmen and nativity scene.... i made a front door and made a little wreath with little golden decorations out of seed-beads and a gold bow.... i really wish i had a pic of that... oh i also put faces on the snowmen and little scarves (ribbon) ... and i painted snow all over the sides of the cottage with a white out pen.... :) it was a super fun project.... my partner got hers so thats why im showing it now....

Just wanted to talk about this fun little idea of mine again... i have a quite a few still.... its a tag in a bag! you can give it as a gift , unmade! or make it into tag and attach it to your gifts.... or make it up and give it as the gift... whichever way you go they are so fun and slightly addicting..... I made a bunch originally for a ladies get-together at my church and even the super-un-artistic ladies had a blast.... they are in my shop and there is free shipping.... ckeck it out!

i joined in on the charming cottage swap.... and so i'm showing a little sneeky peek of what a made... these aren't even shots of the finished product so that's even sneekier i guess , in case my parnter is lurking about.... hehe.... it was hard and fun at the same time.... its totally hand made out of chipboard, i tried to follow a pattern from online but i like the simply boxy look better... i'll show the whole thing after she gets it... it's twelve inches high! with lots of glitter.... and some other little things here and there... also i wanted to tell you guys about somthing really cool and new... a place to get your art published in a very cool new journal..... its gonna be awsome , i can just tell! go to http://theoptimistsquarterly.blogspot.com/ and read all about it.... i've submitted some things...

this is an awsome journal with a handmade cover that i stayed up making last night... and below is one entry , half finished in the brand-spanking new journal.... i'm excited to finally start some projects that i've wanted to for awhile ... like my own handmade journals....this is my favorite so far.... the cover is made of chipboard with some handmade gorgwous red paper that i got at a german art supply store.... i cant remember the name of the stitch i used but its from a book called cover to cover... ugh sorry cant remember the name

so i know I'm way behind... probably didn't think i was still in it but i am... later today I can show the things i've been working on to show you i've still been in it.... so for now i will make you a little collage with powerpoint again and also talk to you about THANKSGIVING the forgotten holiday... now maybe i'm a little late in talking about this since its practically here! but this is my favorite holiday.... not because of the turkey and plethera of food ... but because its not a pagan holiday for one... and because its a holiday to celebrate giving thanx... not that i or those in my immediate family need a holiday put aside to celebrate giving thanx.... anyways.... it seems to me that america has forgotten this holiday and its become one more day to make all about somthing that its not about.... like its more about the macy parade.... and FOOTBALL.... and turkey.... not GIVING THANX..... anyways... i'll have more to say on this later.... so for now here's my powerpoint quickie.....

what i've been working on but somthing is wrong with the camara and the scanner is not bit enough! ack! so i will talk about what a nice 3-day weekend i had with my hubby and kiddos and how we got to participate in a really cool little lantern procession in a little nearby german town.... it was so cool... they sang two songs in german of course ... and the kids all carried their very own homade lanterns in this long procession with a band and everything... OH! one one of the songs they sings sounds a little like "its raining , its pouring!" you can hear it on this video!... check it out! that's what we got to go do this weekend... :)

Well this is my all time favorite painting ever... one because i did it for a good friend... and two because its an oil painting... which is truly my favorite medium... I've been enjoying this art every day for a month excercise... this new year of school has been so hectic i never think i'll have time to do anything... you know there's like a list.... a list of MUST DO'S.... read my Bible every morning, work-out at least three days but hopefully more, finish homeschooling for that day, have clean clothes/house/dishes etc, feed the family, spend quality down time mit mine Mann (little german for ya), and then there is art! you just hafta hafta hafta hafta have art in your life... you know? so see i'm a very challenged writer, i'm even to lazy to capitalize all the words that need to be capitalized... sheesh... but anyways.... here's the paiting

well first i think this is kinda cool.... belinda over at crazy art girl's musings has this post about moi ... just go here and check it out..... then for my art every day challenge I have been working on some little goodies that are kinda different.... introducing Tag In A Bag! I have about 40 right now , but if i run out and you really really want some let me know please! My idea is, they are little art tags that you can attach to your christmas gifts (or any holiday, birthday, etc.) or you can just send/give the tag itself as a gift.... they are all different colors, with different papers , stickers, brads , etc in each little bag. they are about 2 1/2 by 1 1/2 and they are in my lil ole etsy shop so go check that out... those are what I worked on today...

I was working on few things late at night again and I have a ton of 8x10 canvas boards and 5x7 canvas boards as well.... to i just started messing around again and started on this butterful mixed media piece.... I love how its coming out.... lots of gold fluid acrylic and gesso and a little paper for the base.... I think I'll add some words and little bits and pieces to it ... oh that is a real piece of bamboo leaf the butterfly is resting on.... whaddya think?

I really do love it! So I got the next to last journal in the Nature Art Journal RR, and it is so awsome! the cover is just amazing.... I just couldn't think of anything at first but then the ideas started coming and this is what I got! I'm not done by any means and I actually need to do a bit of journaling.... :)

Well I got the oppurtunity to go to an all day scrapbooking thingy today, and I asked if I could actually bring some collage things to do during my time there, which was fine. I was the only one doing collage... still have not met anyone here who does anything with it.... but it's cool. Anyways the holidays are fast approaching , and I'm working my way down the list of people to make things for.... today I made the front a back covers of a little album I'm making for my lil sis , currently deployed right now, and it's of her sweet baby girl. Not sure why I choose purple... but it all worked. Later tonight I'll bind it into an album. I can show the finish product later as well.... but I had to show off my cutie pie niece!

I've made some new things finally.... I'm such an insomniac .... really. So I stayed up until 2:30 a.m. working on these ... well working on a lot of stuff... I kinda sorta decided to be a fill in "angel" for a swap that's due by the 15th of october... I don't think it will get there in time but I really wanted to help... it's for a holiday cookbook journal.... I like swaps and themes centered around the GOOD holidays... everyone forgets Thanksgiving.... maybe they don't have much to be thankfull for.... me I have a lot.... God is good.... anyways.... the paintings. Well I seem to be on this kick with my little ladies ever since this little lady and becuase of artists like this artist and like this artist as well I love their art! wonderfull , gorgeous , exciting.... So all that , if your reading it all, to say here is my newest little lady on an 8x10 canvas board, unfinished , but looking good so far... and if you remember journal entry then I can show you also my other newest painting based on that... its almost done.... Nature Journal

Well I've been a slug as far as creations go... this is all I've done in the last couple days other than doodling.... this is one of the two pages I have to do , in the Nature Journal RR I'm in... this is my favorite so far... I mean my favorite of what I've done... I've actually painted this picutre before in oils ... I gave it away as a doorprize or I would show that as well... I'm also in the works with my first oil painting in awhile... I think I'm finally coming out of the fog of a depression I've been in... this is my first time talking abou this ... I mean maybe there are a lot of people reading this who are also feeling depressed....what is it with artists... there's always somthing to be depressed about... I've never really been one to get depressed until my last pregnancy ... it was the hardest one because my hubby was deployed , so he missed the big belly, the relentless kicking and the delivery... I was depressed while i was pregnant and I think I still am today... I don't really like goin anywhere or doing much... just a little art here and there... everything is sad.. I'm so glad I don't have commercials to watch.. its bad enough watching chic flic's.... BUT good news! I feel that little tingly feeling I get when I want to paint... painting to me is just that ... paint and a brush and a canvas.... others might call painting , paper, glue , paints and brushes ... but for me its just paint and brushes...and like I said I have that little feeling and I havn't had it in so long... and I'm finally ready.... to make somthing big... I finally feel a little better.... WOW that was a lot to say and you don't have to read it all....but I have to say one more thing... art heals... :) hahaha oh wait I forgot to say I painted this tree in acrylics... I'm so horrible at acrylics! I always make things tooooo bright! look at it!

Well my most favorite magazine Somerset Studio has a new theme that's acutally due pretty soon which is Le Chateux.... well I found this really cute little recipe box that was shaped like a house and so I started messing with it and then I just went with the flow and added a pic of my hubby and I on our wedding day in the little doorway with the definition of spouse glued below it.... and other really fun little bits and peices.... whaddya think? I hope they pick it for that issue.... its "Our Chateux" :) so don't tell my hubby , I want to surprise him with the magazine if they choose it... oh I also found a fairly fitting antique page that had this poem on it...

Well I don't consider myself a writer... it's just so hard to think of somthing to write! I guess you can do whatever you really want with art journals though, and that's part of the attraction for me I think. Did anyone else have a nice weekend? The weather has been awsome here in Germany! At least in our little neck of the woods.... I do know its colder in Norway than here right now... it's almost been shorts weather here! well obviously I did this journal entry yesterday... this is in that really cool leather journal I was telling you about.... I just love that thing.... anyways wednesday are kinda crazy for us because we have homeschooling all morning then we gotta get ready for a 20 min drive to my sons tai kwon do class , then we have church on wednesday nights.... well yesterday I just KNEW I would have time in the car, waiting between class and church, to sketch... .and well here is my sharpie marker flower... this page is still not done... but I really like to make at least one nice big thing on a page and work on it more later.... :) so for my sacred life....... running around and waiting? hurry up and wait? busy busy busy? or is it taking the time to chill out and enjoy a break .......

This is a page in a new journal I'm making by hand... I just got a japanese screw punch.... and a bone folder and even a bind-it-all.... so we'll see.. I hanvent used the bind-it-all yet...so anyways this page I just played with.. I was working on another project and mixed too much of one color and ended up using this robins egg blue on my journal page, and some small little canvases and a big canvas and some little swap items.... hehe... I guess I mixed waaaaaaaaaay too much.... anyways I dabbled a little on the pages and then closed it up and to get prints on both sides.... then just started playing... I made those little tree inchies for a swap but didn't like how they turned out so I never sent them... but I had to keep them cause I did do a lot of little techniques on them! so here's my creativity for today... Well boy I really was sick last week... like I said I still sound like a frog but I can finally sleep at night without waking up the whole house with my coughing fits.... some things I did while actually resting a bit was to work in some journals.. my favorite one right now is my red one..... here are some pages that I added some new things too...

My sacred Life and creativity for a month challenges are still blending together for me.... I ordered this awsome book by Randi Feuerhelm-Watts and it just really makes you look at journaling in a whole new way! I'm excited to just really start playing and forgetting the rules... I mean I don't really follow them now but I mean I really just wanna take a journal and just make a big beautiful mess.... get this book if your interested in taking your journals to a new height... a better place.... to just have more fun....

Well I'm combing two challenges this week.... in one post.... SALT has a challenge entitled God's promise.... I got the picture for the hands awhile back and have been wanting to use it for somthing for awhile... I can't remember where I got it ... everything else is my own materials that I just scanned in... this was done in powerpoint... So was my Monday Artday piece... I really really really wish we had psp or photo shop.... but I'm learning to use what I have......

I changed this one a million times but finally got the gold digger to come out.... :) I've used stamping ink through punchinella for the background.... a gold gel pen on the antique book page.... a gold wine label... and lots of other little gold things.... this was a great theme!

Well I've got somthing really realy nasty.... a Uber nasty head cold... Well it's that time again already! I think the Gothic Arch challenge is my new favorite... it's been interesting coming up with new ways to play up the arch shape... I did a crayon resist background for this little pcture of kids holding hands which is so cute. Other than than the swiss army watch face , all other embellishments are paint! Very simple.... ok so I've got a kinda melange goin on here for my post... but that's cool.... I got tagged by michelle over at http://faeriedustdreams-michelle.blogspot.com/ you know... the lady with the awsome crowns? its the middle name game... however many letters are in your middle name is how many people you tag and for each letter you give a description about yourself corresponding with that letter... I think that's right. So my middle name is Marie ... now it could be my momma gave me that 'cause she liked Elvis as much as I do and wanted to copy him , but I don't know why she gave me that middle name.. .I only know that I was named for her best friend , Sheri. ok, ok... so...

M- Momma bird, because that's my #1 job everyday, all day long.. I'll always be a momma... it's my favorite job.

A- Artist, duh! I also love this job.. although it's more of a starving artist type job! :) But it's so rewarding and exciting and neverending when it comes to somthing new to make!

R- Relaxed. Well sometimes relaxed , or maybe I just need to relax more.... that's not always easy but it's nice to just chill out and watch a movie or read a book or paint a picture... yes.... relax.

I- Igloo? Illegal? Ill-tempered? hmmm ... Important people in my life , are my Hubby , my kids, sisters and brother, friends....

E- Everlasting Love.... that's easy to find... just crack open the Bible and you'll find it... I have!

ok so for my sacred life and creativity day 7 I'm showing my awsome stroller that I now take everywhere... It's part of my sacred life because of the excercise, the energy that flows while we use it, the togetherness of being with my family , etc etc... I'm also showing a pic of an angel carved into the church facade because faith is such a huge part of my sacred life... the biggest part.... we all need it... whatever you might have faith in.... but here's my symbol for it today... also one more atc! I don't know if its cool that I'm lumping the two together or not but they go together for me most days...I must have creativity everyday.... and you CAN have creativity and not actually paint or draw or sculpt.... in fact I just did a ladies devotion with my church group a few weeks ago and i choose the theme of creativity.... I made up a bunch of little baggies full of ephemera for the ladies to make their own tags, each bag having different colors and themes. I talked super quick because I hate talking in front of people, but I reminded them that are creative, that God created them that way! I don't think they really listened. anyways... I wanted to show my first attempts at ATC'S because I joined the monday artday atc group and watned to trade! and for my sacred life photo I'm showing where some of my creative things wait for me to take them and make somthing outta them. I also altered the little leg thing that holds up a photo frame... I have a few busted up frames and wanted to use up as much and I could! :)

I don't know what day I'm on for this challenge... :) but I wanted to show you the view from my back porch ... this is my neighbers back porch... or what they call veranda... I know we also call it veranda but see I'm from Virginia and we call it back porch... I would have to say we live in such a beautiful country... its so green... but I guess our neighbors want to see everything green through the beautiful green glass windows. Also I've been working on some tags for a "what's your tag" swap... they're not completed yet , just one last thing that's goin on all of them.... I loved these papers I got in another swap and I just had enough coordinating colored fibers to go with each one... I'll show the finished product tommorrow. Well I just had a big wonderfull post for ya but somthing is up today with either the ole blogger or the ole computer so your getting the short and sweet version.... #1 We went on a trip to Brugge, Belgium yesterday. They are known for lace and chocolate and waffels and all that good stuff.... I'm showing one thing I got there... a little lace.... and I have a video we got to make of a lady we found in a little doorway making some lace! So cool! If i can figure out how to show ya I will. Also showing a journal page... from my favorite journal with an awsome cover titled The Blues Cure which i forgot to scan and will have to do later... This will be my day 1 and 2 for my creativity for a month because I havent been calculating it and I know I joined it much later than everyone else.... but it's been so awsome to be a part of it.... I needed it....** just realized all my photos have blue in them** ***got the lace video to work.. isn't that sooooo cool? see how fast she moves those little bobbin things? also wanted to say yes vin diesel is one of my favorite actors***

So I haven't really gone to etsy for awhile because well nothing much has changed in my little ole shop... I've already said I love Somerset Studio... that's where it all began for me ... and well one of the upcoming themes they have is heros... some of the things they listed for ideas was Superman, Spiderman... etc etc.... but nothing about the military... and I know everyones opinions are very different right now about , well , politics.... but well I have a big military family.... so I'm coming up with a piece dedicated to the military... anyways... just wanted to show a pic of my little sis.... and some art of course.... :)

Well awhile back I showed some pictures of the altered board book I'm working on for a swap.... last night I almost finished it... just some more journaling and stamping ... you know finishing touches.... but I wanted to show you where I'm at with it.... :) like I said it's pretty much done other than last teeny tiny finishing touches.... I like it much more and I accidentally made it tell a little story.... which is in part a tribute to a little bird we had that flew away this weekend... poor little guy.... then there's my Nature Journal RR . This is the next journal in the group that I just got and I decided to do my two pages on the center two pages.... well I guess it was too late or I was too in the groove but I did the whole beautiful thing.... UPSIDE DOWN..... whyyyyyyyyy.... its so awsome and I'm such a dork.... I don't even know how I did that.... I mean I probably opened it up right-side up in order to start working...right? I don't know anything , but that I'm a dork.... and I should go to the Dunce school below....

Well I finished putting some little odds and ends on these boards over the weekend.... I tell you what , when my hubby takes time off I just kinda stop doin the everyday stuff and I actually don't create as many things.... He was deployed for a long time last year and so I guess I make up for time, when I take off from my normal everyday thing as well. Anyways I have quite a few little things from swaps that I need to finish up and get sent off and then things I need to get started , and I can't wait.... but I must wait until tonight when the kiddies are in bed... :) Anyways here are my finished long skinny boards... I found the long calandars at a dollar store a long time ago and I gessoed them but never did anything with them.... till now....

This is somthing I worked on late last night... and below is the altered book cover I recieved....

My pink piece is not exactly done but it's close.... I don't really like pink but lately it's creeping in here and there. Pink converse, pink purses, pink butterflies drawn by my little girl smiley, and seemingly more and more into my art.... I might have an aversion because I always think of Pepto Bismol when I think of pink... there's just not a lot of things to associate to pink , I think. :) I also wanted to share about some swaps... Well I have to say that I'm so glad that I learned about blogs and all that they entail and I've found so many exciting ways to explore My Art and the ways i want to interpret what I want to make... I want you to see what I see but not the way I see it... I'm sure you'll see it in a totally different way... I am a homeschooling momma and I teach an art class to the other homeschooled kids on our base and I decided to do an inkblot art project. Well it was definately an experience ... I don't think they want us to do one like again anytime soon... I saw it as a totally different experience than it actually turned out... but we live and learn. Well all this doesnt really have to do with my post neccesarrily.. I'm still thinking of my friend nita and her hubby....What a change their life is gonna be from now on... I know from her blog and a letter from her recently that she has great Faith... anyways I'd still like to do my post for SALT which ironically, I think, is Life to the Full..... tussie and new idea

I'm having a little craft-yardsale this weekend with an older lady from our church, who is quite ornery, and since I had such fun making my tussie mussie for my swap partner I made a bunch of them... I know I already showed you the blue one... I've got it pictured with it's new look goin on... along with all the others I made ... it took awhile to make them all... I didn't do what most people do and use a party hat , I made the cone shape myself...anyways they're all done and I think they're snazzy looking!

So I had a weird dream the other night , and I'm not sure if it was me or just some random person but basically a woman was walking , or gliding really, through this unusual world and her hair was floating straight up! Above her head.... anyways... well I can't seem to show a good pic of what i decided to do with some of my dominoes... only one semi decent pic....
anyways...I had these puzzle pieces from a thingy I won... and couldnt figure out what to do with them... till now! I added some scrappin' papers to each puzzle piece and then touched them up with a little ink and adhered the dominoes , and added a little wire hanger to each one.... so these little dangly things could be hung anywhere I think... :) I'm also stating that I'm committing myself to one month of creativity ... everyday I will make somthing new for me not for any reason but for the sake of creativity! ok I'm not saying this as eloquently as Karen from http://artinthegarage.blogspot.com/index.html but thats where I read about it and decided to join in.... :) we'll see how it goes.... :)

Well I think this is my personal new favorite.... I bought these awsome cards in arizona a loooong time ago with different antique photos of different Native Americans... I've always loved the culture and tried to learn as much as I can... our grandparents raised us and told us that our dad was part Native American.... yrs later I found my real dad and that not the case .... but its still awsome to learn all that I've learned over the yrs.... anyways this is one of my favorite cards that I bought down there, the picture in the center of my new piece entitled ... well , Peace. New things

A couple of new things I made yesterday.... im showing pics with the flash on in some because well this is Germany and it rains a lot, and I know you want to see all the colors. With the frilly lady one I used an antique book cover , which is my new favorite thing to do, and with the gypsey one I used the end cardboard piece from a paper pack... recycle, reuse right? So finally our base is having a craft show/fair in september... I'm so glad... I was goin to just have a craft yard sale... I've made so many extras from the swaps I've joined that I'm running outta room! Whatever I dont sell at the craft show will go on sale in the etsy shop.... I'm thinking I need to make some more little dresses....

so 5 random things.

1. My hubby and I met in the AIR FORCE boot camp...yes thats right, I was in the military for 6 wks but God obviously only wanted us to meet, not for me to stay enlisted. God has a plan for us all... :)

2. My grandparents raised my two sisters and brother and I, from the time I was 4yrs old, and I'm the oldest.

3. I'm 6ft 2inches tall..... no, I don't play basketball.

4. I have three kids and they all have 7 letters in their first names and 3 letters in their middle names, this was my hubby's idea... do you know there aren't that many 7 letter names out there? **or 3 now that I've thought about it!**

5. I can't hardly ever find britches (pants) long enough for me , so I wear skirts a lot , or capri's which are supposed to be short.

art cards, journals

I haven't put the journals up yet in my shop , but I've put the art cards up... I wanna ask you if they are both things you would want... I'm selling them as things you can further alter yourself.... the inside of the journals are blank unlined paper.

but you tell me what you think.... I think I've finally had a "happy accident" as I've heard it called... now if YOU have dont this or know anyone who has please tell me.... So I was up late making "stuff" again and I wanted to try my hand at stamping and coloring in Dominoes... well I tried to follow some directions I found in (Somerset Studio) the BEST MAGAZINE IN THE WORLD.... and either I didnt follow the directions or I have the wrong sealer .... because this is what happened.... the ink came off with my "sealer" .... now its not supposed to but...... well I think its kinda cool looking... like a qhost image or a negative image ... only in color... whaddya think? Are they cool? the photo with dragonflies shows a finished one and one that hasnt been colored or sealed yet....

I'm so glad I found about etsy when I did. It's such an awsome place for crafters... a lot of people have quite the success goin on over there.....

Do you remember the cha-cha dress? down like two or three posts? Well anyways here's what I did to fix it... much better right? Much more cha-cha.... I think if the lady in my freebie pic below would wear the cha-cha dress she would take better pictures... maybe that just me. Ok I think I either need more coffee , or I've had too much.... yeah.

This is an Altered Board book im working on for a swap I'm doing through one of my yahoo groups. I'm really having fun playing around with it. I'm not done yet but here's a few pics of where I'm at with it. It's coming along... I really tried to make the cover look old and antiqued. I hope thats how it looks. I made a bright blue green spread that doesn't really go with everything else so I'll definately be changing that up a bit. Otherwise whaddya think?
